Ozon.ru revenue spikes 86% to 7.9 bln rbl in Apr–Jun

MOSCOW, Aug 15 (PRIME) -- Revenue of Russian online retailer Ozon.ru skyrocketed 86% on the year to 7.9 billion rubles in April–June and 76% to 14.8 billion rubles in January–June, the company said on Wednesday in a statement.

“In the second quarter of 2018, Ozon.ru has demonstrated the highest growth rate in the company’s modern history…The company’s key focus today is technologies, service and assortment, and we’re sure that the intensive dynamics of growth will continue,” General Director Alexander Shulgin said.

“Besides, we’re launching the Marketplace platform, which will cement Ozon.ru’s leadership in the e-commerce segment. Our floor will not only expand assortment for buyers, who will see a multiplied number of goods and a noticeable decrease in prices, but also for sellers, who will get access to a multi-million client base of Ozon.ru, a high-quality IT service, and the best logistical infrastructure in Russia.”

Ozon.ru delivered 6.2 million orders to clients in January–June. The gross merchandise volume (GMV) of Ozon.ru and Ozon.travel was at 32 billion rubles and is expected to exceed 70 billion rubles upon results of 2018.
